photos ceremony plan your trip activities

We’ll be on the island of Oahu from March 10-17, 2010 if you’d like to join us for any and all activities. Please note that I'll be adding more information as I have it.

Friday, March 12

Welcome Dinner

Bingo + Game Night

We're kicking off the weekend with a casual dinner at the house, followed by May-Ling's favorite, bingo! Expect island prizes and lots of fun. We'll also have various other games to play into the night.

Saturday, March 13

11:00am Wedding + Lunch

1:30pm Polynesian Cultural Center

5:15pm Ali’i Luau dinner and show

7:30pm Hā Breath of Life dance performance

This is the big day and it'll take place at the house. Please note that as it's a private residence, we'll be e-mailing you directions and the address closer to the date.

Post-wedding, we'll caravan up to the Polynesian Cultural Center for a day of fun activities. It's a huge themed park with tons of island activities for the whole family where you can learn about various Polynesian cultures. It can be pricey, but well worth it when you consider the activities, luau dinner and evening show. We've secured a group discount and the price should be under $90 per person.

Sunday, March 14

Snorkeling at Hanauma Bay
Exploring/Shopping in Honolulu
Hula + Drinks at House Without a Key
Hanauma Bay is probably May-Ling's favorite place in Oahu. It's a beautiful cove of water, protected from the waves. It's a hike down to the shore or older folks can take the shuttle down. With calm waters, it's a wonderful place to learn how to snorkel and they have equipment to rent at a very reasonable price. Join us and you will see so many fish you won't believe it...and maybe even a sea turtle! If you don't want to get into the water, it's still a lovely beach to sit out and relax.

We'll either pack a picnic lunch or head back to the house for goodies. Some of us can spend the day shopping and exploring Honolulu and Waikiki – a bigger city than you would expect on an island...and then we will grab a little luxury at House Without a Key at the Halekulani hotel watching beautiful hula and classic Hawaiian drinks.

Monday, March 15

Hike at Diamond Head

North Shore fun

Diamond Head is a tough hike up a hill that gets you a beautiful view of the island. It's hot, steep and you go through a tunnel and we hear the view is well worth it. After lunch, we'll drive up to the alternative North Shore , famous for its shrimp trucks, amazing surfing and relaxed nature.
